UK Web Hosting
UK Web Hosting
Many businesses and individuals alike are now taking out web hosting packages from web hosting providers that are based in the UK. The main reason for this is that people now want their websites aimed at a UK audience to come up top in Google UK search results, and without being hosted in the UK their chances of this happening are greatly reduced. UK web hosting accounts do come at a premium though since UK bandwidth is more expensive than it is in the United States, which is the source of cheap web hosting accounts; this means that UK shared web hosting accounts and dedicated servers alike will cost more than they would if they were based in a US data centre.
For a VAT registered UK business, purchasing a UK web hosting account from a VAT registered UK web hosting provider can have financial benefits, since it will allow them to claim back the VAT from the British government. The benefits of having your website on the first page of Google UK search results can also benefit your website or business; if you are a UK business aiming at a UK audience then it will allow you to pick up more traffic from the UK, and in turn more visitors. UK hosting is available in several different forms: shared web hosting, reseller web hosting, VPS hosting and dedicated server hosting; this means that there is more than enough choice for individuals and business looking for UK hosting.

UK web hosting packages work in the same way as any other form of web hosting package, in that you are supplied with a control panel that you can use to easily and quickly manage your UK based website hosting account. You are also normally given a choice of hosting operating system, meaning that you can have your web hosting account hosted on a server running either Windows or Linux, like you could with a US based web hosting account, for example.

Hi -
Are you saying that having an IP from the UK affects the ranking in google.co.uk?
What if you have a .eu domain hosted in the UK?

Google will give more weight to websites that are hosted in the UK. Use of a country specifc or continent specific domain will also make Google give more weight to your website in search results. So in theory, yes, if you have a .eu domain hosted in the UK, Google will give more weight to your website in UK and European search results.
