UK Domain Needs UK Host

On many occasions I have found people posting on forums asking ‘what affect does having my UK domain hosted in the US have on my search engine traffic?’. On most of the occasions, I have given people a list of SEO articles, including some by Mat Cutts. In my opinion, a UK domain should always be hosted in the UK, it is more precise and you will always get a good traffic ranking in UK search engines, it will also help you target your UK audience in a better way.

Looking into this further, it is my personal view that Google wants to list sites are are of different interests to people in their target country, so it’s better to prioritize results on google.co.uk, as well as other local search engines that would be able to accurately determine the ‘local search’ listing. If you have a UK domain which is not hosted in the UK, I highly suggest that you find a UK host for your domain as soon as you can; it is from my own personal experience that after doing this I had better results in local search listings, as well gaining a better sales conversion.

However, it is most important that you get a stable and reliable UK hosting company that ensure a robust level of support and maintenance on the server, backed by quality guarantees and so on; their network & infrastructure is tuned with latest technology & infrastructure with fast and effective service & support. You need to be able to retain your peace of mind as well as your time and efforts by avoiding changing from host to host in pursuit of a better deal.
In this case I would like to thank the eUKhost team in this post for their professionalism and great service, bost of which have always been the best. They are one of the only UK web hosts which you can trust, and their customer services sets them apart from the rest.

    Yes, that’s very true.
If you are located in UK and targeting your traffic from UK then you should go with the host whose servers are located in the same country ( UK ) it would definitely benefit you for ranking and traffic.

Yes indeed if you have a better host 70% of your the issues get reduced and the remaining 30% should be tackled by the Hosting company.i always believe in quality rather than quantity. If you are targeting traffic according to a particular location then it is always good to use local host otherwise if you are not then the host location does not make a big difference.

Richie has good point, Nice article! Google is already on move with search results tailored to a person’s geographic location, as per google spokesperson “Google’s goal is to connect users to the information they need, whether it’s half way around the world or just around the corner,” this would be greatly helpful to those who are targeting specific niche of local market.

Getting a host from another country with the UK domain also works but it doesn’t give the desired search results which are targeted.
If the hosting provider is from the same country it will make a lot of things easier for you in terms of the service provided and the traffic which the site receives converting visitors into potential customers as the search results demanded by them are targeted for the specific region.
