It is highly recommended to update your content more frequently from both user perspective and SE point of view, the visitors usually search for latest information and that also impact search engine to keep their robot more active toward your site. Good content also increase sales conversion and attract many good backlinks.

Seasonal articles are extremely helpful for adding fresh content, you can also add current news/events pertaining to your particular industry.
