A Weblog can be a source of making money online. We invest hours in posting on blogs. Should it not fetch some revenue in return?
One way of earning through blogs is to host ads. An affiliation with Google Adsense is one such avenue. When we allow Google to put their ads on our blog, we get paid for the clicks which the visitors of our blog might make. Many people have earned lots through such ads. Some say that it didn’t help them much. In any case, however, it cannot produce negative results.
Affiliate programs with companies having similar products also work with blogs. When by clicking on the link placed on your blog anyone makes a purchase you earn your share. One may even write a few words about a product which he finds impressive. This costs little. However, some may not prefer to so advertise products of their competitors.
It is needless to say that you can advertise your own products by placing links at appropriate places on your blog. The customers can reach your site through your blog as well.
Blogs also need to be marketed. To click on the links put on the blog people should first visit your blog. Search engines give more weightage to blogs as they contain lots of content. It is always advisable to make posts on topics which are relevant to your business laying focus on the most successful keywords. It makes the blog as well as your Web site rank high.

A blog is a great way to express your thoughts, however with millions of blogs springing up everyday; it takes considerable efforts to create your own blog’s niche. But with proper combination of blogging, SEO & marketing, you may reach the height of popularity.

Blogs are interactive in nature. Blogs usually carry a link at the end that allows anyone to add their own comments to your blog entries. This allows your potential customers to make comment about your product or service and enable other members to help them in buying process.
