Social Labeling

Use of labels, more than a weighting system, are generally defined by a human factor (the social factor) to highlight the interesting articles in information systems, typically directories blogs (in English Social Bookmarking).

The labeling allows for pre-sorting of items sought and the number of references, a note given by the readers create the order of articles.

Web Protocols

The protocols for web communication are key to Web 2.0 infrastructure. The two main approaches are REST and SOAP.

* REST (Representational State Transfer) indicates a way to exchange and manipulate data using simple HTTP verbs GET, POST, PUT and DELETE.
* SOAP involves posting an XML server applications including an instruction to execute.

In both cases, access to services is defined by a programming interface (API). Often, the interface is specific to the server. However, web programming interfaces standard (for example, to post on a blog) are emerging. Most, but not all, communications with web services involve a transaction as XML (eXtensible Markup Language).

Search also WSDL (Web Services Description Language), a publication of the standard web services interfaces.

Web 2.0 Economic Issues

After the gains made by the new economy, web 2.0 has enabled the rapid enrichment of some, as was the case during the initial deployment of the Internet. However, some had expressed concern about the risk of emergence of a “bubble 2.0″ similar to the first internet bubble.

Many sites emblematic of Web 2.0 are in trouble following the financial crisis of 2008. Given the difficulties of the economy in general, some may have difficulty finding funding through advertising or venture capital. But unlike what happened for the first internet bubble, this time the internet is not responsible for the crisis that threatens them.

Unlike terms such as HTML 4.01, designating a specific technology, or Internet2 (with whom he should not be confused and designating a consortium), Web 2.0 has no meaning. This also means that developments are not the result of a consultation on the World Wide Web Consortium. Therefore, interactivity is achieved by superimposing many layers, while allowing a level languages web richest have been neglected. Some scientists complain that anarchy leads to poor performance.

Benjamin Bayart for his part denounced the fact that Web 2.0, content is much more centralized institutions that what allows the Internet. Ultimately, it is no longer in a spider web (web), but star. By derision, he proposes to call “Minitel 2.0″ what the media called Web 2.0.
