Choosing the right domain name for site

Right domain name plays a very important role in total search engine optimization of web site. Previously there was no importance in selecting domain name, but now SEO tips and tricks have proven the importance of a right domain name. SEO experts have found that Google is able to find the different keywords in domain name and thus push up the site in search engine results.

When a site is developed, first find out the main theme of the site and then try to find out the most important keywords of the site. These keywords must be used in the domain name.
For Example :
if the site concept is dating then you should look for different keywords related to dating concept and try for such a domain name so that dating word will come in the domain name:
singles-dating.com
freedating.com

Though putting keywords in domain name is important, there are some important tips to choose a right domain name :-

1. Domain name should be short,easy to remember and to spell
Domain names can be of any length up to 67 characters. But a domain name should be short so that it would be easy to remember. Also a domain name should be easy to spell so that if a user has only heard of such a site can easily spell it and find it.

2. Choose extension
Many users get confuse about which suffix to choose from .com, .org, .net, etc. If the site is business related then you should choose .com suffix. Also .com is the most common extension used ever and people try to search any site by giving the same extension.

3. Use characters allowed
Domain name may contain letters, numbers and hyphens. While spaces and other special characters are not allowed. So, by using hyphens you can add all important keywords in the domain name. ex :

4. Register more than one domain name
Sometimes its better to register more than one domain name. It might happen that the company with same name register with same domain name with different extension. So such sites with same name confuse the potential customers. Thus, many companies register same domain name with different extensions like .com, .net, etc.

5. Choose the perfect one from the bunch of domain names
While thinking of the perfect domain name, you may find 3/4 good domain names of your interest. So, in such a case it would be better to ask to your friends so that u will find the perfect domain name.

Thus, its very important to choose a perfect domain name for your online business site so that u an easily achieve high rankings in search results.

What is Favicon.ico?

Favicon is the acronym for ‘Favorites Icon’. The small image displayed at the beginning of the URL bar or address bar of browser is known as the Favicon. That icon is nothing but the small symbol of the whole web page or the site and thus is also known as the pageicon or urlicon.

Creating favicon.ico :
1. Create an image of 16×16 pixels.
2. Save that image as ‘favicon.ico’ .

Placing or Uploading favicon.ico :
Favicon.ico file must be uploaded under the root directory of the web server so that it is automatically displayed on the address bar. And if the favicon.ico is not uploaded in the root directory the developer will have to specify a tag in section of the web page for locating that icon.

<link rel=”shortcut icon” xhref=”/favicon.ico” type=”image/x-icon” />
For XHTML, the link element must be terminated by ” />” instead of “>”.
Give specific path to href attribute so that the favicon.ico will get located.

Most of the browsers available read the faicon.ico file format correctly and thus easily displays the icon in the URL bar. However, now some browsers also support animated GIF and PNG image formats. Older versions of IE dont display this favicon; but now the newer versions support favicons.

Advantages and Limitations of favicon.ico :
The important advantage of using favicon is to make your Favorites entry easier to find. But Favicon also has limitations. Only newer versions of IE shows icon in the Favorites listings as well as in the address bar. While netscape and opera use it only in the address bar and not in the bookmarks list. Also, the icon disappears when the browser cache is emptied.

META tags and SEO

META tags are important HTML tags for providing information about the document. This is not a required tag in a web page, and therefore many developers dont put these tags in the developed web pages. But in most of the search engines these tags are used for listing and indexing the sites accurately. Google, Altavista, etc. search for the META tahs in the document to categorise that document.

Where to put META tags?
META tags should be placed in the HEAD section of an HTML page:
<html>
<head>
<meta name=”keywords” content=”keyword1,keyword2″>
<meta name=”description” content=”description is…”>
……..
</head>
<body>
……..

Major META Tags :
<META name=”doc-type” content=”web page”>
this tag indicates document type. Different types of document available are Government, Journal, Private, Public, etc.

<META name=”keywords” content=”a, list, of, keywords”>
this tag contains a list of keywords separated by comma. These are the most important keywords which indicate what information does the web page contain?

<META name=”description” content=”a description of your page”>
this tag contains descritpion about the web page and its contents. this description should short but summarised with main keywords.

<META name=”distribution” content=”global”>
Content should contain either global, local or IU (for Internal Use).

Optional META tags :
<META name=”copyright” content=”copyright statement”>
this meta tag indicates the copyright for the web page.

<META HTTP-EQUIV=”refresh” content=”0; url=index.htm”>
this tag is used widely for reloading the web page after every mentioned seconds in content. Also, here the URL represents to redirect it to index.htm .

<META name=”revisit-after” content=”7 days”>
this tag informs the bot to revisit after 7/14/21 days.

<META name=”author” content=”author’s name”>
this tag contains the name of the author of web page.

There are other meta tags like robots, revisit-after, rating, owner, publisher, etc. which can be used in a web page.

Thus, by META tags optimization web pages can achieve higher rankings in search engines. Now, most of the search engines also crawl your web page contents, so the contents of the web page should be specific and must contain the keywords for number of times. This helps the search engines to index the web pages and thus web pages gain higher rankings.

Introduction to CAPTCHA

CAPTCHA stands for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart. CAPTCHA is a difficult acronym but is a very useful tool in differentiating robots from humans. In short, it is a simple test to detemine if the user is a robot or human.

Why CAPTCHA?
Now-a-days, websites became the identity for many businesses. Many companies have their sites for online business. These companies offer a lot of free services to their users. The only thing is to register on the site. So, many people exploit the offered free services by duplicate registration. They write a computer program that can automatically register on the site and then can use the offered services. CAPTCHA is developed for avoiding such spam registrations on the site and exploitation of the offered free services.

How CAPTCHA works?
CAPTCHA is a distorted image containing short text. It is displayed in such a format so that only human eyes can recognise the alphabets clearly. At the time of registration, such image is displayed on the form and the user is asked to write the same text in given text field. The robots fail to recognise the short text. Thus, website owners can prevent robots from registration and can ensure that all the members using free services are humans.

Thus CAPTCHAs prevent automated posting to blogs and forums. CAPTCHAs can be used further in avoiding spam emails. Apart from these usage of CAPTCHAs; it is criticised that people with poor eyesight or blind people will be unable to use the web services offered.the movie avpazumi kawashima moviemovies bait busmovie bdsm samplemovie girls beachbeastiality movies freebest movie cumshot evertit black movies big Map

Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools(BIRT)

BIRT is short for ‘Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools’. It is an open source Eclipse-based reporting system that integrates with your Web applications, mainly Java or J2EE, to produce significantly important reports. BIRT provides core reporting features such as report layout, data access and scripting.

BIRT is incredibly useful, mainly because of its two main components: a report designer based on the Eclipse platform and a runtime component that you can add to your own application server and it can produce reports from simple lists to charts, cross tab/matrix reports, text documents and compound reports that combine two or more of these types of data into a single report.

The reports can incorporate data from any source by using it’s Open Data Access (ODA) framework to access any kind of tabular data; reports can be generated from multiple data sources and Various data transformations are also supported. Some examples of this include summarization, sorting and calculation of percentages, as well as the type of sorting and grouping that is typically needed for business intelligence reporting.
