Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG)

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is a file format by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for web page graphics based on vectors, rather than bitmap formats. In other words SVG is an XML language for describing two-dimensional graphics both static and animated, and either declarative or scripted. .svg files will normally be smaller than bitmap files and will scale to different size screens.

SVG allows three types of graphic objects:

1. Vector graphic shapes (e.g. paths consisting of straight lines and curves)
2. graphic images / digital images
3. Text

Benefits of SVG include:

1. Smaller files size than regular bitmapped graphics such as GIF and JPEG files
2. Resolution independence, which means the image can be scaled down or up to fit proportionally into any size display on any type of device
3. Easily searchable text labels and descriptions for search engines
4. Ability to link to parts of an image
5. Complex animation

Cheap Internet Access

Hello,

For anyone trying to get the cheapest internet available, there are tons of options available. Some providers offer completely free service. But the trade-off is permanent pop ups along the bottom of your desktop, or other advertiser gimmicks that may inhibit your Internet experience.

But if you are living in the U.K. and want broadband service at its very cheapest, there are a few companies you should consider first.
First off would be Homecall Broadband. Homecall has voice and data bundled packages starting at just 19.99 pounds. These deals include 2 mbps in bandwidth, and the company always seems to be running specials too. For cheap Internet access and, as a bonus, solid broadband service, Homecall is someone worth checking out.
Wanadoo Broadband is another U.K. company to look at if you are looking for cheap broadband. The company also offers a 2 mbps deal that starts at 17.99 pounds. The deals also go up depending on how light or heavy a user you are. Wanadoo also offers a free modem and connection from time to time, a 50 pound value. Wanadoo also offers a six months free program for qualifying members.
BT Broadband is another U.K. firm that is becoming increasingly popular with its cheap Internet offerings. What BT offers deals from 26.99 pounds per month, and also has a variety of packages available for home or business.
Like anything, finding the cheap Internet access is not too hard. But doing a little research to find the most reliable and suitable product for your needs may be what’s important. There are a number of cheap Internet providers. But it may be best to talk to a few people who use their service to find out if they are reliable or not.
Also, look at your personal needs. Don’t let yourself get sold up into a package that is more than what you need. Figure out what you need first, and then shop for that when you are looking to find a cheap Internet provider. One aspect of finding cheap Internet access knows if you are using it for home or office. If you have a small business that relies heavily on your computers, the cheapest may not always be the best option for you.
With competition for Internet users by Internet providers becoming more and fiercer every day, it can be said that cheap Internet access is more a buyer’s market. There are a number of providers who are willing to cut their rates or match the competitors’ prices to get your business. Anyone looking for cheap Internet access should know this before they start doing research. After that, you can look at who is offering the cheapest service with decent quality and use them as a barometer when shopping around.
All the best.

Internet Fundraising and How it Works

Hello,

The internet opens up a whole new world of fundraising opportunities available to you and your organization.
Most people are not aware of the resources available to them on the internet and how the internet can help them raise the funds they need for their organization. When utilizing the world wide web, your group has many different options at their fingertips which can mean great profits for your group.
Below are a few different ways you can utilize the internet to help with your fundraiser:
1. You can contact a company of your choosing online and approach them about sharing proceeds with your group. Explain to them why you need the funds, how much you are hoping to raise and then discuss ways you can work together. They may be willing to send you some brochures, catalogues or flyers. Or you can make up your own flyers that include their name and say when you shop at “Store B” they will donate a percentage of all sales to your group. You can also include more than one company, but you would want to make sure they aren’t in direct competition with one another.
2. You can have a website built that explains your fundraiser in detail. You can include how they can help, why you need the money and how much money you are hoping to raise. After the website is in place, you can then direct people to it. The great thing about this option is now you can send your relatives and friends that live in a different state to your website so they can participate in your fundraiser. And just imagine how many other students will have friends and family from all over that can now participate in your fundraiser. Make up some flyers and start passing them out all over town, every where you go; this too will help make more people aware of your fundraiser. Be sure that there is a clear way for those out of town to order from or support the fundraiser on your website. You can also use a fundraising thermometer to visually track your progress on the site.
3. You can utilize an affiliate program to allow your group to shop online while providing you with a piece of the pie. A common affiliate program you can use is Amazon. They offer a lot of books, so you can push the educational angle of shopping with them and in addition, they offer about as many products as you would find in a local mall – making it easy for anyone to shop for normal everyday items with them. This also allows friends and family members who don’t live locally to be able to support your school by making purchases online. You can become a detailed affiliate and build a site specifically for the affiliate program, or just place one link on your site for people to enter the affiliate site on and make a purchase.
Before deciding to do an Internet fundraiser for your school or group, you may want to get approval from the organization you plan to fundraise for before starting any such projects or advertising your fundraiser online.

Enjoy…

When You Need an Emergency Host

Do you have planned an emergency host especially before your site start eating more resources than all the rest and your current host can’t able to provide you with the needed service and most of the time keep messing with your site because that seems big for them to handle? Also do you classify your high demand or study the upcoming demand especially when your site traffic is growing somewhat without warning?

Possibly this is the right time to thrash a system and to get a host in advance from your list for emergency hosting who can set you up on a server on your own where you can thrash it. The support issues are more like to be an issue to the average kiddies host but a professional hosting company would get the occasional support call as their customers don’t have any issue, very occasionally there might be a genuine issue.

My point to start this post ; You should keep a host in advance in your list that has capability to help you to efficiently manage during such high availability requirements and or during some unexpected events so that in case you find serious lapses from your existing host side you can easily shift to another host from your preferred list. Also in case you unexpectedly expand an account you should be carefully managed to shift to another host preferably with your own server.
