Why should you pay for it?
The word ‘Free’ sounds quite nice and tempting. But when you opt for free hosting services, you get a bundle of problems also absolutely free! This list is just illustrative and not exhaustive:
Advertisements: you just cannot avoid them. That is the only source of revenue for Free hosts. A good paid hosting service provider would never place any advertisement on your site. The ads put by the free hosts generally occupy a big area of your Web page spoiling the look of your Web page. The pop up windows irritate your viewers the most.
Excessive downtime: As most of their subscribers do not pay for the services they do not feel obligated to serve them well. They are not dependable at all.
Little customer support: You are over-ambitious if you expect any customer support from the host, much less the 24/7 online support. If you are a little fortunate, you will find some solutions in the FAQ section.
Very limited disk space: The disk space provided by free hosts is invariably very limited. It may not even satisfy your current requirements. Consequently, the chances of growth are bleak.
Limitations on ad revenues: As the free hosts themselves occupy most of the space on your Web page with their ads, you will have hardly nay space to place any other ads to generate income for your business. These hosts may even explicitly disallow you to place any advertisements on your Web site.
Server access not so secure: Free hosting would be the worst choice for online stores. Neither enough space and bandwidth nor secure access is available for online credit card processing. Your potential customers might choose yourcompetitors for a sheer reason that you cannot guarantee a secure transaction.
Restrictions on file types: Most free Web hosts do not support file types other than .html. In the ever growing era of developing and programming languages this can really cramp your Web presence and curb your growth.
Cumbersome and lengthy domain names: As a rule, you cannot get an independent domain name. It would be either: freehost.com/yourdomain or freehost.yourdomain.com It would certainly not be easy to remember thus minimizing the chances of your users’ next visit drastically. They might bookmark your site. But those who are not so Internet savvy may not be aware of the bookmarking feature either.
Do you still need reasons to opt for a paid hosting service? I am sure there would be no ambiguities left.
