Change in MX Record…
domain.com 14400 MX 0 domain.com
mail 14400 CNAME domain.com
Suppose the client wants to set the MX record to any perticular IP, then we will have to make the changes as per below……..
domain.com 14400 MX 0 mail.domain.com
mail.domain.com 14400 A IP
One more thing to do that is to remove this domain name from /etc/localdomains and add it in /etc/remotedomains file.

Internet Message Access Protocol.
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol, it’s a protocol for retrieving email messages or bulletin board messages kept on a mail server.
Using IMAP an email client program can not only retrieve emails but can also manipulate messages stored on the server, without having to actually retrieve the messages. So messages can be deleted, have their status changed and multiple mail boxes can be managed efficiently. The new version of IMAP which is IMAP4 is similar to POP3(Post Office Protocol version 3) but supports some additional features.
An IMAP mail system has a many advantages for users:-
With IMAP changing mail client becomes very easy when all mails are stored on the server, What only needs to be done is to configure a new IMAP client with the IMAP account details.
An IMAP client can easily be configured to view multiple mailboxes in physically separate servers.
Multiple IMAP clients can be used by each user. which makes implementing a webmail solution for roaming users a simple task.
IMAP maintains message status as ‘flagged’ on the server for read, answered mails etc.
IMAP allows the idea of shared folders which makes it easier to implement generic email accounts for an organization, and then allows multiple users to access those accounts.
Many implementations also allow server side filtering of mail. This can be an extremely useful feature when users are accessing their mailboxes through different email clients.
