Unmetered or Unlimited Bandwidth?

Unlimited : no limit
Unmetered : not measured or counted but has a certain limit

Unmetered bandwidth is the only thing that won’t be deceptive advertising to a prospective client. Unlimited bandwidth does not exist bcoz bandwidth is a commodity that someone needs to pay for eventually. The term unlimited is only a marketing strategy and the companies offering unlimited bandwidth does not last for a long time in the market. Go through the TOS of such companies you will find some restrictions after all nothing in the world is unlimited. Unmetered bandwidth is possible only for the dedicated servers and on shared account it is as dishonest as unlimited.

A lot of people nowadays are aware of the fact that unlimited bandwidth does not exist and it’s just a strategy adopted by hosts to attract more clients. When carefully reading a company’s TOS that offers such services, you’ll see that it’s not the Unlimited you’ve been thinking of after all.

Yep, offering unlimited bandwidth is not possible. It is a marketing trick, done just to attract customers. If any company offers such thing then it is important to check all terms & conditions carefully. While, offering unmetered bandwidth is possible.

You must avoid hosting companies that claim to offer unlimited bandwidth. The reality is that they are overselling at high levels and as a result their services will suffer.

Better to calculate a rough idea in advance how much disk space you are suposed to be needed and look for that much requirement a while.

Unlimited bandwidth need unlimited amount of money means practically it is not possible. By offering unlimited bandwidth the host provider is trying to trick you. They are knowing that probably you are not going to use that much bandwidth.
    Take care.
